Purchasing for resale or claiming another qualifying exemption? Find the right Texas certificate and submit your documents for review.
01 / ELIGIBILITY
A resale claim can cover items sold again as purchased or incorporated into merchandise for resale. For example, transfers applied to shirts you sell may qualify. Use the resale side of Form 01-339.
A permit alone does not replace the certificate. Personal purchases and items used to run your business do not qualify under a resale claim.
Qualifying nonprofits must have Texas Comptroller recognition, and purchases must serve their exempt purpose. Federal 501(c) status alone does not complete that process.
Use the exemption side of Form 01-339. Federal and Texas state/local government entities, including Texas public schools, may instead provide a qualifying purchase voucher in the entity’s name.
Business ownership, an EIN, or a customer-account label does not by itself make every purchase tax exempt. Each claim must fit the purchaser, items and intended use.

02 / HOW TO APPLY
Include the email address used for your customer account and the purchaser’s business or organization name. The certificate must identify the purchasing entity; an authorized representative may sign for it.
Download official Texas Form 01-339 (PDF) . Page 1 is for resale; page 2 is for other qualifying exemptions. Complete, sign and date the appropriate page. Include a permit copy or applicable supporting proof with your request.
Send them to info@limeprint.com with the subject Tax Exemption Request. Include your account email and any relevant order number.

03 / DOCUMENT CHECK
A permit copy supports our review; it is not a substitute for a properly completed certificate. Send the completed certificate to DTF, not to the Comptroller.
A driver’s-license copy is not a field or attachment required by Form 01-339. Please do not include photo ID in your initial email. Contact us if separate identity verification is needed.
04 / AFTER SUBMISSION
Submitting documents does not automatically remove tax from checkout. Wait for confirmation, then check the tax shown before paying. If tax still appears on a qualifying order, contact us so we can review the account and transaction.
Tell us which items are taxable when an order mixes resale and other uses. Blanket resale certificates are appropriate only for purchases exclusively for resale. Notify us if your business, permit or exemption status changes.
If items purchased for resale are later used rather than resold, tax may become due. Do not sign a certificate for a use you know does not qualify. DTF may request clarification or decline an unsupported claim.
Accepted certificates and related tax records must be kept for at least four years, and longer when an unresolved audit, appeal or refund matter requires it.
05 / COMMON QUESTIONS
A qualifying blanket resale certificate may cover repeated purchases exclusively for resale. It must accurately describe those purchases. Tell us before ordering items outside that scope.
A qualifying nonprofit must establish its Texas sales-tax exemption with the Comptroller. Provide the completed exemption certificate and any applicable Texas verification information for review. Personal purchases by employees or volunteers are not covered by the organization’s exemption.
Email your order number, invoice and supporting certificate so we can review whether tax was paid in error. Account approval does not automatically revise earlier orders. If you do not hold a Texas sales-tax permit, Texas directs you to first request a refund from the seller; an Assignment of Right to Refund may allow a claim with the Comptroller. Include the delivery state and applicable documents in your request. Out-of-state registration information may be relevant to a Texas resale certificate, but tax treatment depends on the transaction. A Texas certificate does not automatically establish exemption in another state. Contact us before checkout if your situation is not covered here.
